Ervin Marton (1912 -1968) was a photographer and an artist. His works are in the National Gallery Museum in Budapest, as well as in the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris. His body of photographs starts in his native Hungary with portraits of Roma people and landscapes. In 1959, he publishes Paris m'a sourit a portrait of Paris, with the poet Maurice Fombeure. One of the photographers he admired was Atget. Blaise Cendrars called him "l'as du noir et blanc", the champion of black and white. He is represented today by the Stephen Cohen Gallery in Los Angeles.
