Anthony Friedkin

 



Anthony Friedkin is an internationally recognized fine art photographer. His images are in the permanent collections of the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. His work has also been exhibited in Japan and Russia and has been widely published, with credits including Rolling Stone, Zoom, Time, and Newsweek. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, most notably the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and the Eastman Kodak Company Special Endorsement. Anthony Friedkin is a native of Los Angeles, California and has worked extensively in Western and Eastern Europe, Japan, Mexico, and New York City.

The exhibit draws from several significant bodies of work including: The Gay Essay, The 'Le Mer' Series, The Beverly Hills Essay, the Hollywood Essay, and New York Brothels. The work spans Friedkin's entire career, and combines images from his experiences as a photojournalist, a fine art photographer, and a film unit still photographer.

The show will feature selections from over three decades of photographic essays. A new monograph is being published in conjunction with the exhibition and will be available at the gallery
