THE DREAMERS
Christopher Lowell
March 5th – April 24th 2010 |

Chris Lowell, Michael, Washington DC, 2008
The Stephen Cohen Gallery is pleased to announce The Dreamers, Christopher Lowell’s black and white portraits of artists with whom he collaborated on a year-long project creating works that documented each artist’s desires and disappointments. During the year each participant contributed to the project by mailing numerous pieces of art to a post office box in Southern California. At the end of the project, the artists came together from around the globe to view all the work they’d created, and to share their tales of dreams fulfilled or lost over the previous year.
Christopher Lowell was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He studied photography at the University of Southern California, and at the New School in New York. Lowell first began exhibiting in 2007, and has since photographed in over 25 different countries, including throughout the United States, Europe, and Latin America. In 2008, he worked as a photojournalist for Project Medishare in Haiti. This will be the artist’s first exhibition at the Stephen Cohen Gallery.
